In this day and age, social media is a dominant force on the internet landscape. Facebook, Instagram and YouTube may work well for others, but not us. For obvious reasons, this style of blogging suits us.

Our main purpose is to share answers we couldn’t easily come by when we were in need and went looking. That annoyed us to no end, so we’re here to spare others our frustration.

We’re also here to note down interesting things we’ve stumbled upon – for posterity. Since we’re a nostalgic lot and like to revisit old hits.

Introvertium. Why?

From the Myers and Briggs personality test, the foremost character dimension being extroversion/introversion:

and we’re skewed strongly in one direction. So we thought we’d lean into it for our blog. 😉

Welcome.

Samsung Music shows same album art

Multiple tracks seem to have the same album art. Turns out the answer was simple. The music files, MP3 or otherwise, had an empty metadata field under “album”. Samsung Music seems to operate under a shorthand that uses the same album art it caches for all successive files with the…

QiCycle Abrupt Power Shutdown Under Load (Climbing Slopes)

We’ve noticed the electronic system cut out twice under load – riding up steep inclines. The bike was set to BO+ (boost mode) and we were powering up a slope of about 30 degrees. About five metres up the slope the electronics cut out entirely. It would not power up…

Videostream Doesn’t Cast (cast button inoperable)

Videostream used to work a treat. We use it specifically to handle videos with subtitles. Lately (Nov 2021), due to web browser updates, Videostream no longer works. Dutch’s Trap from Predator 1987

We found this link on Reddit. So the log was a counterweight and on the ground was a noose that was supposed to snare the Predator’s leg and hoist him upwards into the spikes. That was not obvious to us. Having seen it at a tender young age, we never…
