No need to string this one out. We solved our problem by going to:
- Yoast’s “Breadcrumb Settings”
- Taxonomy to show in breadcrumbs for content types
- Posts (post)
- Taxonomy to show in breadcrumbs for content types
and changing the value from “Category” to “None”. Save settings.
Then change it back from “None” to “Category”. Save settings.
We’re guessing that Yoast creates the breadcrumb upon post creation and breadcrumb activation. It doesn’t keep an eye out for category renaming.
Note: we also tried the “Enable Breadcrumbs” slider, disabling and re-enabling. That didn’t work. Had to be the “Posts(post)” value.
So we might have to do this from time to time to keep breadcrumbs current. Especially since we’re prone to renaming things after we get it wrong the first time. 😉
