“Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve this problem” is driving us nuts

We’ve clicked repair countless times. It does its thing, reinstalling Creative Cloud and yet it keeps prompting us with the same annoying dialog box. Googling told us to uninstall the whole thing, and put it all back in. Hard pass. We suspect this is some kind of glitch which will simply crop up again.

Frankly, Adobe Premiere Pro is fun, be we don’t use it often enough for Adobe Creative Cloud to justify its memory residency or place on the taskbar, constantly checking for updates, hitting us with that stupid dialog box.

So we turned off the Adobe Creative Cloud processes that initialise on Windows start-up. These include:

  • CCXProcess.exe
  • Creative Cloud Desktop (Creative Cloud.exe)

Both found in the “Start-up” tab in Task Manager.

We’ll fire up Creative Cloud when we want to and manually update as we see fit. So far, so good.
