Android Auto Maximise Map

Android Auto has a split screen. With the map sharing space with a media player. We want map only.

The solution is simple: press the map icon.

For some reason, we didn’t think of it and kept pressing the icon on the lower right.

Once the split screen was up, pressing the icon on the lower right just alternated between:

map and media player
map and menu

Of course, software gets updated and interfaces change. So we’re time stamping this experience. Current as at:

While googling for an answer to this split screen, we found that the navigation software can be updated. It can be downloaded from the car manufacturer’s website.
